OK - help me to help you. At the end of this term I would like you to do two things:
a) Complete a survey about what helps you to learn. The survey was created by Warwick University so the questions are not mine. However, it will help me in knowing how to help you.

b) Whilst we are looking at questionnaires - they are an oft used tool by Psychologists to allow people to "self report". I would like you to read pages 94, 96+97. Clicking on the comments below I would like you to summarise the advantages and disadvantages of questionnaires.

Advantages: Questionarres are easily repeated
ReplyDeleteCan be collected from large groups of people in a straight forward way.
Is simple, quick and easy to do and is cheap.
The way the questions are asked are in a relaxed and friendly manner people are most likely to answer more personal questions.
Disadvantages: Depending on the question, some people will not answer truthfully because they want to seem more sociably accepeted and to the 'norm'.
Some questionarres will be baised as some questionarres will be answered by the same type of person hence getting the same type of answer.
